ErrorCheck! 2.1.1 fixes the problem of moving the window around and positioning where you want it. Old Macintoshes with 9" montiors may have to move the window up in order to view the results. Fixes a little bug that really doesn't matter, except to me. That bug is just for after you press a number. Now you can only press "Choose Again!" to pick another one.
ErrorCheck! 2.1 uses only one window. This should fix many incompatiblities with large monitors. It is more compact, and is just easier to use. The icon has changed (again). I will remain with this icon. The "About ErrorCheck2.1..." is different. I will remain with this for future versions as well. Using one window should make it easier to use other programs. One thing to note: If you move the window, it will not remember your positioning. It will go back to your upperleft corner of the screen.
ErrorCheck! 2.0 was created by Matt Washchuk to help people out with those pesky developmental errors. For those of you who didn't have version 1.0, here is the basic understanding:
ErrorCheck! 1.0 used a typing interface. You simply typed in the number of the error, and the program showed what the error was. It was simple, and not elegant. Version 2.0 fixes some of the ugly parts. Here are the differences:
ErrorCheck! 2.0 requires a Mac 512KE or later, but I recommend an LC or later. Please read below for the shareware fee. You may distribute ErrorCheck! freely to any online service, ftp, or less than 2.8 meg media. Please credit my name where applicable, and include the entire ErrorCheck! folder. You may distribute the program to any number of computers, but for each computer it is installed on, the shareware fee needs to be paid for that machine. Volume discounts are available for groups of over 10. Duplicating or altering the program is a violation of laws relating to computer software. So, please, do the right thing. Here are the differences between ErrorCheck! 2.0 and 1.0:
1. No more typing interfaces. There are two windows now. The top window shows the error (that part still has to be in text). The bottom window shows which numbers are errors. Each box has a number in it, representing an error. Click on the box that has the corresponding error. The top box will display the error. Click on the third window (which shows up when you click on a box) to enter another error. Command-Q will quit, or by selecting it in the file menu will quit.
2. Major advancements in screen redraw. The text based programs were terrible at redraw when you clicked out of the program. Now, the main window is always redrawn. The only thing you may lose is the text in the window, but you just need to click on the error box again.
3. The program is more "Macintosh like." I have included a graphic "About Application..." area, and version numbers are available in the Get Info area.
